29 CFR 1926.1207(a): The employer did not provide training to each employee whose work is regulated by this standard, at no cost to the employee, and did not ensure that the employee possessed the understanding, knowledge, and skills necessary for the safe performance of duties assigned under this standard: On or about 05/01/2024 at the MTA-F line a 2.10-mile-long elevated steel structure from Kings Highway above McDonald Ave/Shell Road/West 6th Street and West 8th Street, abrasive blasters were bodily entering steel support column containments which were permit spaces. The employer did not provide training to each employee entering the permit spaces including the knowledge, and skills necessary for the safe performance of duties assigned. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.
