29 CFR 1910.178(c)(2)(iv): Power-operated industrial trucks designated as DY, EE, or EX were not used in locations where volatile flammable liquids or flammable gases are handled, processed or used, but in which the hazardous liquids, vapors or gases will normally be confined within closed containers or closed systems from which they can escape only in case of accidental rupture or breakdown of such containers or systems, or in the case of abnormal operation of equipment: Dock and Storage Area: On, or about, December 4, 2023, a Nissan Model CF01 forklift was used to transport pallets and cages of compressed gas cylinders, including those that contained LPG. In addition to the transport of compressed gas cylinders, the travel area also included inlet/outlet filling stations for the bulk storage tanks and a cylinder fill station. The Nissan forklift was listed as a Type LP on the identification plate and was not designed for use in a location where flammable gas could be present in the event of a release or malfunction.
