29 CFR 1910.243(c)(5)(i): Immediately before mounting, all wheels shall be closely inspected and sounded by the user to make sure they have not been damaged in transit, storage, or otherwise. The spindle speed of the machine shall be checked before mounting of the wheel to be certain that it does not exceed the maximum operating speed marked on the wheel. a) Wheels America located at 777 W Providence Rd, Lansdowne, PA 19050 - Spray Room. On or about November 22, 2022, the employer did not ensure that wheels on a grinding machine, such as DeWalt 11000 RPM handheld grinding tool were sounded, also known as ring tested, by the user to ensure structural integrity of the wheel prior to use, thereby exposing employees to struck-by hazards.
