29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: The employer does not ensure that extension cords (flex wiring) are not used as a substitute for fixed wiring, exposing employees to electrical hazards. a) This violation was observed on or about November 15, 2017, where extension cords were wrapped around the legs of a work table in the plating area. b) This violation was observed on or about November 15, 2017, where an extension cord was wrapped around and through wood studs of structure in the thermal spray area. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps taken to ensure that all flexible cords and/or cables are not used as a substitute for fixed wiring.
