29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer shall assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): On or about 08 February 2017, the employer failed to assess the workplace for hazards that necessitated the use of personal protective equipment including arc resistant apparel, head and face protection. Employees working in low overhead clearance areas, using portable grinders, and performing electrical troubleshooting were exposed to injury. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
