29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a) Boiler room outside of main entrance to ammonia compressor room - The employer did not comply with IIAR B109 Minimum Safety Criteria for a Safe Ammonia Refrigeration System section 4.10.10, which requires installation of a deluge safety shower, capable of providing 15 minutes of continuous flushing, outside of the ammonia compressor room door, on or about 2/8/12. b) Boiler room outside of main entrance to ammonia compressor room - The employer did not comply with IIAR B109 Minimum Safety Criteria for a Safe Ammonia Refrigeration System section 4.10.10, which requires installation of an emergency eyewash station, capable of providing 15 minutes of continuous flushing, outside of the ammonia compressor room door, on or about 2/8/12. c) Boiler room outside of main entrance to ammonia compressor room - The employer did not install an emergency eyewash station, capable of providing 15 minutes of continuous flushing, in the boiler room where employees worked with PurCide 25, a corrosive chemical, on or about 2/8/12. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
