29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: UTCRAS Inc., located at 501 Highland Ave. Morton, PA: (a) On or about January 21, 2020, the employer did not provide effective hazardous chemical training for employees engaged in welding, wheel shop, and spray-painting operations. Employees used hazardous chemicals throughout the plant, including but not limited to the following: - Safety Kleen Premium Solvent which contains petroleum distillates and is a Class 4 flammable solvent with a flash point of 148 �F (64�C). - Lacquer Thinner which contains acetone, xylene,2-butoxyethanol,etc. and is Class 2 flammable liquid with a flash point of 3.2 �F (-16�C). - Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) stainless wire which contains metals such as, but not limited to chromium, nickel, hexavalent chromium, etc. - Alcohol - Carbon and Alloy Steels electrodes which contains metals such as, but not limited to chromium, nickel, copper, etc. - Acetone - Silver-Brite Aluminum Paint which contains aluminum and is a Class 3 flammable liquid with a flash point of 107.6 �F (42�C).
