29 CFR 1910.219(c)(4)(i): Unguarded projecting shaft end(s) did not present a smooth edge and end and projected more than one half the diameter of the shaft: a.) On or about March 31, 2015, the Schwartz Chop Saw in the manufacturing area used to cut wood parts was not properly guarded. Employees were exposed to a projected rotating shaft when cleaning around equipment and operating the saw. The shaft was 3 inches long and 1 inch in diameter. b.) On or about March 31, 2015, the Wood Planer in the manufacturing area used to cut wood parts was not properly guarded. Employees were exposed to a rotating vertical shaft when cleaning around equipment and operating the planer. The shaft was 2.25 inches long and 1 inch in diameter.
