29 CFR 1910.254(d)(6): Printed rules and instructions covering the operations of equipment supplied by the manufacturers were not strictly followed: Garage - The employer failed to ensure welding operations followed the manufacturer's operating instructions for the Lincoln Electric Power MIG 180 Dual Metal Inert Gas Welder, in the following instances: a) DO NOT WELD OR CUT containers or materials which previously been in contact with hazardous substances unless they are properly cleaned. b) REMOVE all potential fire hazards from the welding area. c) ALWAYS HAVE FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT READY FOR IMMEDIATE USE AND KNOW HOW TO USE IT. d) WELDING AND CUTTING SPARKS CAN CAUSE FIRE OR EXPLOSION.
