Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 013 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.305(j)(4)(v): The disconnecting means was not readily accessible: The employer is failing to protect employees from electrocution and amputation hazards associated with the unexpected energization of electrical equipment in the fabrication area. This was most recently documented on June 9, 2020 at the worksite located at 1921 West US Highway 50, Lone Jack, Missouri. The electrical disconnects were obstructed by working platforms. Employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards and amputation hazards when using tools including the Biro Band Saw and the conveyors that were supplied power from the obstructed electrical disconnect switches which may not be readily accessible in the event of an emergency.
