29 CFR 1910.265(c)(5)(i): Stairways were not constructed in accordance with 29 CFR part 1910, subpart D: (a) Sawmill #3 - On or about October 2, 2019 stairways used to access the saw cab and did not have a minimum tread depth of 9.5 inches (24 cm) exposing employees to fall hazards. (b) Sawmill #1- On or about October 2, 2019 stairway to edger operator's station and stairway to operators cab were damaged preventing uniform riser heights and tread depths between landings exposing employee(s) to fall and hazards. (c) Sawmill, West End - On or about October 2, 2019 stairway was not provided to access the lower chain conveyor exposing employees to fall hazards. (d) Sawmill, West End - On or about October 2, 2019 stairway was not provided to access chipper exposing employees to fall hazards.
