29 CFR 1915.74(a)(2): The employer permitted employees to board or leave a vessel by using a gangway that did not have on each side a railing with a minimum height of approximately 33 inches, measured perpendicularly from rail to walking surface at the stanchion, with a midrail. a) At the facility, on tank barge, hull marking Coastal 2526-B: On or about June 28, 2019 and times theretofore, the employer provided a gangway without railings for employee access, exposing employees to a fall hazard between 4 and 10 feet above the sheet pile, rip rap and shallow water lower level.
