29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1): The employer did not provide a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use a respirator, before the employee was fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace: a. On or about October 7, 2014, yard, the employer did not provide a medical evaluation to employees who were required to wear respirators that included but were not limited to the following: 1. Clemco Apollo 600 HP supplied air abrasive blasting respirator 2. 3M half mask air purifying elastomeric respirators Abrasive blasting employees were exposed to respirable dust containing crystalline silica during abrasive blasting of metal structures for oil/gas drilling operations. Employees who sprayed primers and coatings on metal structures for oil/gas drilling operations were exposed to airborne chemicals that include but are not limited to isophorone diisocyante, mineral spirits, xylene, n-butyl acetate, acetone, and parachlorobenzotrifluoride.
