29 CFR 1910.119(j)(4)(i): Inspections and tests were not performed on process equipment to maintain its mechanical integrity: ALON USA, LP, 200 Refinery Road, Big Spring, TX. The employer does not conduct or complete external CUI inspections. This violation was observed on or about April 15, 2009 in the following instance: No corrosion under insulation (CUI) inspections were being regularly conducted, except when gross corrosion was detected during a routine vessel inspection. Corrosion was seen on the Sulfur Condenser in the #1 SRU. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking in the workplace to ensure that inspections and tests are performed on process equipment to maintain its mechanical integrity.
