29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1): Electrical equipment was not kept free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause serious physical harm to employees: The employer does not ensure energized wires are properly covered to protect employees from electrical hazards. a) This violation was observed on or about May 30, 2019, in the carpenter shop, energized copper wires extended from an electrical box, exposing employees to shock and electrocution hazards. b) This violation was observed on or about May 31, 2019, in the second level electrical storage area, energized copper wire extended from the walls, exposing employees to shock and electrocution hazards. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps taken to ensure energized wires are effectively de-energized or covered with twist-on wire connectors.
