29 CFR 1910.266(d)(1)(iv): The employer did not provide, at no cost to the employee, and/or assure that each employee who operated a chain saw wore ballistic nylon leg protection or other leg protection which the employer had demonstrated provides equivalent protection: (a) Workers working in the field doing logging operations and operating chain saws did not use leg protection such as ballistic nylon leg protectors; (b) Workers at the saw mill trimmed ends of boards at the green line using chain saws, but did not use leg protection such as ballistic nylon leg protectors; (c) Workers at the saw mill cutting large areas out of slabs headed for the hog andusing chain saws did not use leg protection such as ballistic nylon leg protectors; and (d) Workers using chain saws to split large logs did not use ballistic nylon leg protectors.
