29 CFR 1910.252(c)(11)(i): In the use of cleaning materials, because of their possible toxicity or flammability, appropriate precautions, such as manufacturers' instructions, were not followed by the employer: Garage -The employer failed to ensure that the degreasing compound (Brakleen) was used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions in the following instances: a) Obtain special instructions before use. b) Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. c) Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. d) Vapors will accumulate readily and may ignite. e) Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. f) Maintain ventilation during use and until all vapors are gone. g) Open doors and windows or use other means to ensure a fresh air supply during use and while the product is drying.
