29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, and rotating parts. Block Saw Room; on or about January 6, 2023 and at times prior to, maintenance employees were exposed to amputation hazards, in that the employer did not ensure that the rack and pinion on the platform of the Barry Brown block saw was guarded to prevent accidental contact with the ingoing nip points.
