29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: UTCRAS, Inc. located at 501 Highland Ave. Morton, PA: (a) UTCRAS, Station #8, Building T: On or about January 21, 2021, the employer did not ensure that a guard was installed and was functioning to prevent contact with the point of operation. Employees working with the machine such as but not limited to Doosan Puma 480 XLM were exposed to amputation, caught in-between and struck-by hazards. (b) UTCRAS, Station #27, Building T: On or about January 21, 2021, the employer did not ensure that a guard was installed at or near the point of operation for employees working with the machine such as but not limited to Monarch N model. Employees operating the machine were exposed to amputation, caught in-between and crushing hazards.
