29 CFR 1910.1026(j)(2)(iii): The employer shall not allow compressed air to be used to remove chromium (VI) from any surface unless: a. Garage Shop - The employer did not prevent an employee from using compressed air to blow off debris from his work clothing. An employee, conducting the torch burning of stainless steel scrap, was exposed to 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA) of 0.019 milligrams per cubic meter of airborne hexavalent chromium during a 436 minutes occupational exposure. The 8-hour TWA employee exposure was 3.8 times respectively the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.005 milligrams per cubic meter. The violation was noted on May 1, 2019.
