29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords were not connected to devices and fittings so that tension would not be transmitted to joints or terminal screws: a) North millwright shop: On or about March 4, 2016, and at times prior, workers were exposed to electrical shock hazards where the cord end fittings of a welder and parts cleaner were not attached to prevent direct pull on conductor terminations. b) South rail dock crane: On or about March 4, 2016, and at times prior, crane wiring and equipment did not comply with Subpart S per 1910.179(g)(1)(i), in that workers were exposed to injuries related to electrical fires, shock, and electrocution where the crane cab heater cord entering a panel allowed for direct pull on terminal screws. Abatement Note: Employer completed abatement during inspection.
