29 CFR 1910.138(b): The employer did not base selection of appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the tasks to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and potential hazards identified: a. On or about October 15, 2014, paint building, The employer did not base selection of the appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the hazards of spraying isocyanate containing top coat. The employer did not provide chemical resistant gloves for spraying isocyanate containing top coat which exposes employees to hazardous chemicals including but not limited to isophorone diisocyanate, mineral spirits, and VM&P naphtha.
