29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1):Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and safety data sheets. a. On or about September 27, 2023, employees were not provided with effective information and training on the hazardous chemicals in their work site, including but not limited to, stearic acid, polymer Vybar 103/Polyboost 165, and the propane gas utilized as fuel for the forklift. Employees were not trained on the methods and observations to be used to detect hazardous chemicals [(h)(3)(i)], the physical and health hazards [(h)(3)(ii)], protection measurers [(h)(3)(iii)] and hazard communication program information [(h)(3)(iv)].
