Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 011B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(iii)(A): Retraining was not provided for authorized and affected employees when there was a change in their job assignments, a change in machines, equipment or processes that presented a new hazard, or when there was a change in the energy control procedures: (a) Protein for Pets Opco, LLC, dba All American Pet Proteins, at 259 30th Street, Greeley, CO: On and preceding 9/3/2021, the employer did not ensure that retraining was provided for authorized and affected employees when there was a change in machines, equipment or processes that presented a new hazard. Blenders on production lines 1, 3, 5, and 7 were supplied with liquid nitrogen inlets in early 2021. The liquid nitrogen was a thermal and compressed gas energy source. Employees were not provided retraining following the introduction of the new nitrogen related hazards. This condition exposed employees to an uncontrolled energy hazard.
