29 CFR 1910.157(c)(4): The employer shall assure that portable fire extinguishers are maintained in a fully charged and operable condition and kept in their designated places at all times except during use. a. On or about August 17, 2017, located below the furnace pulpit, the employer did not ensure the fire extinguisher was maintained in a fully charged and operable condition, thereby exposing employees to the hazards associated with a fire. b. On or about August 17, 2017, located on the emergency island near the furnace pulpit, the employer did not ensure the fire extinguisher was maintained in a fully charged and operable condition, thereby exposing the employees to the hazards associated with a fire. c. On or about August 17, 2017, located on a steel column under the roughing mill pulpit, the employer did not ensure the fire extinguisher was maintained in a fully charged and operable condition, thereby exposing the employees to the hazards associated with a fire.
