29 CFR 1910.219(e)(3)(i): Vertical or inclined belt(s) were not enclosed by guard(s) conforming to the requirements specified at 29 CFR 1910.219(m) and (o)(a): On or about January 11, 2016, the employer failed to ensure that belts were guarded in the following instances: a) In the assembly, mill works, spray, and machinery department, there were approximately four homemade cooling boxes/fans with belts that were not guarded. Employees exposed to the hazard of being caught-in the rotating belts. b) In the assembly department, the belt on the Delta table saw was not guarded. Employees exposed to the hazard of being caught-in the rotating belt. c) In the machinery department, the belt on the General Electric swing saw was not guarded. Employees exposed to the hazard of being caught-in the rotating belt. d) In the plastic department, the belt on the Delta band saw was not guarded. Employees exposed to the hazard of being caught-in the rotating belt.
