29 CFR 1910.119(j)(2): The employer did not establish and implement written proc edures to maintain the on-going mechanical integrity of process equipment: The employer does not ensure that written procedures are established and impleme nted to maintain the on-going mechanical integrity of process equipment. a) This violation occurred on or about November 18, 2010 in the Butadiene Recovery Area of the Lion Copolymer Baton Rouge facility, where procedures for completion of maintenance activities on process equipment did not ensure on-going mechanical i ntegrity of process equipment is maintained. Required and necessary maintenance work orders were allowed to be closed out without actual completion of critical activities. These work orders involve corrective maintenance work on piping, ves sels, pumps, compressors, instruments, and other process equipment. b) This viol ation occurred on or about November 18, 2010 in the Utility Pump House Area of t he Lion Copolymer Baton Rouge facility, where procedures for completion of maintenance activities on process equipment did not ensure on-going mechanical i ntegrity of process equipment is maintained. Required and necessary maintenance work orders were allowed to be closed out without actual completion of critical activities. These work orders involve corrective maintenance work on piping, ves sels, pumps, compressors, instruments, and other process equipment. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19(d), within 10 calendar days of the date of the citation, the empl oyer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standar d including describing the steps it is taking to ensure that procedures used for the Computerized Maintenance Management System support the completion of work t o correct the deficiencies in equipment and assure the mechanical integrity of t he process.
