Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 011A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: (a) Protein for Pets Opco, LLC, dba All American Pet Proteins, at 259 30th Street, Greeley, CO: On and preceding 9/3/2021, the employer did not ensure that procedures were developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section. Blenders on production lines 1, 3, 5, and 7 were supplied with liquid nitrogen inlets. The liquid nitrogen was a thermal and compressed gas energy source. The de-energization procedure for the blenders did not address control of the liquid or gaseous nitrogen. This condition exposed employees to an uncontrolled energy hazard.
