29 CFR 1910.217(b)(4)(i): The pedal mechanism shall be protected to prevent unintended operation from falling or moving objects or by accidental stepping onto the pedal. a. 4400 S. Packers - Department 7 - On or about September 23, 2014, provisions were not made to prevent unintended operation (actuation) of a foot treadle of Rouselle mechanical power press # 7, serial # 16709 due to falling or moving objects or by accidently stepping on the treadle, thereby exposing employees to amputation type injuries. b. 4400 S. Packers - Department 7 - On or about September 23, 2014, provisions were not made to prevent unintended operation (actuation) of a foot treadle of Heim mechanical power press # 35, serial # H3650 due to falling or moving objects or by accidently stepping on the treadle, thereby exposing employees to amputation type injuries.
