Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/04/08 Location:Maintenance Shop Condition:The eye wash provided for employees when using caustic tool cleaner had the water supply to the eyewash turned off. Among other methods, one feasible means to abate the condition would be to turn the water back on. (b)Date of Violation:06/19/08 Location:Maintenance Shop Condition:The water supply to the eyewash did not deliver the recommended 1-1/2 liter per minute as required of flushing liquid. Among other methods, one feasible means to abate this condition would be to increase the water pressure. (c)Date of Violation:06/04/08 Location:Main Plant Condition:Eye Wash provided for employees, exposed to caustic cleaners, was unaccessible because of clutter. Among other methods, one feasible means to abate would be to remove the clutter from the eyewash area.
