Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fire and explosion hazards: (a)Pinneo Feedlot, Ltd. Liability Company at 32295 Highway 34, Brush, CO 80723: On or before 09/19/06, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from compressed gases in the following conditions: 1)The employer did not secure compressed gas cylinders stored in the maintenance shop; and 2) The employer did not separate acetylene and oxygen cylinders by a minimum distance of 20 feet, or by establishing a 5 foot high noncombustible partition, having a fire resistant rating of at least 1/2 hour. Condition exposed employees to fire and explosion hazards. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter") Abatement Note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to follow the directions provided in the Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet # G-1 and P-1, as stated above.
