Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 011 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(a): Safety-related work practices were not employed to prevent electric shock or other injuries resulting from either direct or indirect electrical contacts, when work was performed near or on equipment or circuits which were or could be energized: a. On or about October 22, 2024, the employer did not develop and implement electrical safety related work practices to protect employees who are exposed to live electrical conductors. Employees who accessed the electrical control panel associated with the Colorbiotics dye machine to reset and turn the equipment on/off were exposed to electrical-related injuries in that safe work practices were not employed to prevent electrical shock, electrocution, and/or arc flash/blast. b. On or about October 28, 2024, the employer did not develop and implement electrical safety related work practices to protect employees who are exposed to live electrical conductors. Employees who accessed the electrical distribution panel associated with the tub grinder to reset the machine's computer and breaker were exposed to electrical-related injuries in that safe work practices were not employed to prevent electrical shock, electrocution, and/or arc flash/blast.
