29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables shall be connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief is provided that will prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws: a. In the maintenance shop, the Marvel Series 8 Mark 1 vertical band saw, Serial Number 821613-W, had an electrical cord that ran into the saw column with a damaged insulated jacket and approximately one inch section unjacketed, thereby exposing employees to electrical shock hazards. The electrical cord was energized with more than 50 volts. b. In the maintenance shop, the Marvel Series 8 Mark 1 vertical band saw, Serial Number 821613-W, had a coiled electrical cord that ran across the door of the main electrical enclosure with a damaged insulated jacket, thereby exposing employees to electrical shock hazards. The electrical cord was energized with more than 50 volts.
