29 CFR 1910.1026(l)(2): The employer did not ensure that each employee can demonstrate knowledge of the contents of the hexavalent chromium standard and the purpose and a description of the medical surveillance program required by paragraph (k) of this section: a) On March 27, 2024 and prior to; employees involved with the electrochemical plating process are using and exposed to chromic acid - CAS#7440-47-3 (Cat 1 respiratory irritation. Cat 1 skin sensitization. Cat 1 serious eye damage/irritation). The preparation of metal parts involves preparing solutions, plating station set-up, dipping, drying, polishing, cutting, grinding, and the storage of hazardous chemicals.
