29 CFR 1910.272(e)(1)(i): Current employees, and new employees prior to starting work in the grain handling facility were not trained in the general safety precautions, including recognition and preventive measures for the hazards related to dust accumulation: The employer does not protect employees from bin entry. At 10047 Compton Street, Belgrade, Missouri, specifically inside of the Grinding Mill, the employer did not develop or implement a bin entry training program for employee(s) who enter a silo containing oats. These hazards included, but were not limited to, atmospheric, engulfment, fall, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and lack of rescue services. This violation was noted on 05/22/19. The employer does not protect employees from fall hazards. At 10047 Compton Street, Belgrade, Missouri, specifically inside of the Feed Mill, employee(s) exposed to multiple fall hazards in the work area were not instructed in how to recognize or abate them. These fall hazards existed along open sided platforms and fixed ladders. This violation was noted on 05/22/19. The employer does not protect employees from an unplanned collapse hazard. At 10047 Compton Street, Belgrade, Missouri, specifically at the Loading Dock, employees were not instructed to know when a dock board was properly placed and secured against inadvertent movement. This violation was noted on 05/22/19. The employer does not protect employees from the accumulation of combustible dust. At 10047 Compton Street, Belgrade, Missouri, specifically inside the mixing room, workers processed and bagged animal feed (grains). The workers were not given training to prevent the accumulation of combustible dust. This violation was noted on 06/21/19.
