29 CFR 1910.184(f)(5)(iii): Wire rope sling(s) that had kinking, crushing, bird caging or other damage resulting in distortion of the wire rope structure were not immediately removed from service. On or about October 18, 2018, and times prior thereto, the employer failed to removed a set of wire-rope slings out of service due to kinking and distortion of the rope, exposing employees to dropping load hazards.
