29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladders were used for purposes other than the purpose for which they were designed: (a)C & C Construction, Inc. at 82 Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, Hazel SD 57242: On or about and at times prior to May 22, 2020, the employer did not ensure that the six-foot A-frame ladder was being used in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. Employees utilized an A-frame ladder to gain access to the upper platform of a Grove crane to perform maintenance activities by leaning the folded ladder against the crane. This condition exposed employees to a fall hazards.
