Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 010A Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.851(b): All stairs, passageways, ladders and incidental equipment thereto, which are covered by this section, shall be periodically inspected and maintained in a clean safe condition. a. On or about August 4, 2016, located on the northern portion of the 2nd floor at the former Columbus Municipal Light Plant, the stairs were not kept in a clean safe condition due to tools being kept on the stairs, thereby exposing the employees to a trip/fall down the stairs. b. On or about August 9, 2016, located at the southeastern stairway on the landing between the 5th and 6th floor there a section of pipe, scrap steel and debris on the stair landing, exposing the employees to a trip/fall hazard. c. On or about August 4, 2016, located at the southwestern stairway on the going to the 5th floor, there were loose extruder tubes in the walkway, exposing the employee to a trip/fall hazard. d. On or about August 4, 2016, located at the walkway to the stairway at the center of the 6th floor on the south end of the former Columbus Municipal Light Plant, the walkway was not kept in a clean safe condition due to debris and scrap metal on the floor grating, thereby exposing the employees to a trip/fall hazard.
