29 CFR 1910.303(b)(7)(iv): There were damaged parts that could adversely affect safe operation or mechanical strength of the equipment, such as parts that are broken, bent, cut, or deteriorated by corrosion, chemical action, or overheating: a) South rail dock crane: On or about March 4, 2016, and at times prior, crane wiring and equipment did not comply with Subpart S per 1910.179(g)(1)(i), in that workers were exposed to injuries related to electrical fires, shock, and electrocution where the crane cab heater electrical box had loose and missing insulation, evidence of arcing, and cross-threaded terminal screws. b) Rail dock: On or about March 4, 2016, and at times prior, workers were exposed to electrical shock hazards where an outdoor electrical outlet was damaged. Abatement Note: Employer completed abatement during inspection.
