29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) The employer did not ensure that one or more methods of machine guarding was provided to protect the operators and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by ingoing nip points. This violation occurred on or about April 14, 2015 when employees were allowed to perform work on or near the ingoing nip point created by the un-winder roller on printing press #6. b) The employer did not ensure that one or more methods of machine guarding was provided to protect the operators and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by rotating parts. This violation occurred on or about June 4, 2015 when employees were allowed to perform work on or near the rotating wheel on tuber #3. c) The employer did not ensure that one or methods of machine guarding was provided to protect the employees in the Little Bag Department from hazards such as those created by point of operation. This violation occurred on or about June 3, 2015, in the Little Bag Department where employees were allowed to operate a band saw which was not guarded at the point of operation.
