29 CFR 1910.179(h)(4): Hooks did not meet the manufacturer's recommendations: On or about October 8, 2014, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure the hooks were used in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, exposing employees to the hazard of being struck by falling loads in the event the hook should fail. a. On the 2 Ton Bridge Crane located on the south end of the Machine Shop the hook's clasp was too large not allowing it to close to keep the sling inside the hook. b. On the 2 Ton Bridge Crane located on the north end of the Machine Shop the hook's clasp was sprung allowing a sling to roll out and drop the load.
