Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 010 Hazard: LIFTING

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: 1) Jobsite, 1 Main Street, Finishing Room, Komotsu Forklift, Personnel Basket - The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) General Industry site; The hazard of being exposed to a fall up to 20 feet to cement floor level while working from a personnel basket attachment raised by a Komotsu forklift during combustible dust housekeeping. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement to correct this hazard while lifting personnel with a forklift is to follow the requirements set forth in ASME B56.1-2000. NOTE: ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.TION
