Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 010 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the risk of oxygen cylinders falling over and potentially exploding or rocketing: a.Gas storage room at loading dock area - Approximately 65 full E cylinders of oxygen were stored in the gas storage room. These tanks were not secured to prevent them from tipping over on 1/29/03. A feasible means of abatement would be to secure the tanks with a chain.
