29 CFR 1910.1053(j)(3)(i): Employer did ensure that each employee covered by this section could demonstrate knowledge and understanding of at least the elements required in this section: the health hazards associated with exposure to respirable crystalline silica; specific tasks in the workplace that could result in exposure to respirable crystalline silica; specific measures the employer has implemented to protect employees from exposure to respirable crystalline silica; the contents of this section; and the purpose and a description of the medical surveillance program required by paragraph (i) of this section: Block Plant: Employer did not provide information and training as required by this section to employees whose airborne exposure exceeded the OSHA action level (AL) of 25 micrograms per cubic meter (mcg/m3) and permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 mcg/m3, calculated as an 8-hour TWA for respirable crystalline silica in the following locations/job tasks: a) Tumbling process. b) Split Line process. c) Mixer cleanout process. d) Dry Side process. e) Wet Side process.
