Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 010 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.307(c): Equipment, wiring methods, and installations of equipment in hazardous (classified) locations were not intrinsically safe, approved for the hazardous (classified) location, or safe for the hazardous (classified) location: a) Facility-Wide - Employees used woodworking equipment, such as but not limited to, saws, sanders, a wood planer and wood shaper, which generated wood dust (a Class II combustible dust). The facility had general purpose wiring, receptacles, circuit breaker panels, disconnect switch, overhead lighting, a portable radio and fan, etc., which were not approved for Class II locations, exposing employees to fire and explosion hazards, on or about October 23, 2023. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
