29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 pounds per square inch (psi). On or about April 28, 2023, and at times prior thereto, employees used compressed air for cleaning purposes in which the air pressure measured at over 30 psi. a. Employees use compressed air in the tool room measuring at 115 PSI , exposing the employees to the hazard of being struck-by the jet stream or foreign bodies in the eye(s). b. Employees used compressed air at the CNC machine measuring at 85 PSI, exposing the employees to the hazard of being struck-by the jet stream or foreign bodies in the eye(s).
