29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. The employer does not ensure an eye/body wash station was in proximity of employees working with corrosive chemicals, exposing employees to the hazard of eye irritation, blurred vision, skin defatting, and dermatitis. a) This violation was observed on or about April 17, 2023, at the south end of the facility by the spray booth, an eye/body wash station that provided a continuous flow for flushing of eyes was not provided in the immediate area. b) This violation was observed on or about April 24, 2023, at the maintenance shop next to the manager's desk, an eye/body wash station that provided a continuous flow for flushing of eyes was not provided in the immediate area. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps taken to ensure an eye/body wash station is placed in proximity of locations where employees work with corrosive chemicals.
