29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii):Flexible cords and cables shall be connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief is provided that will prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws. On or before 2/7/22 the employer did not ensure that power supply cords that supplied power to the machines on the workshop floor had the required strain relief to prevent from damaging the cords and exposing live wires, therefore exposing employees to a shock hazard. The power supply cords located on machines such as: a) On or about 2/3/22 the employer did not ensure that the power supply cord for the Furnas pipe bender (model #150) had the proper strain relief in order to prevent damage to the cord, therefore exposing employees to a shock hazard from damaged power supply cords. b) On or about 1/17/22 the employer did not ensure that the power supply cord for the Havir Press #2 (model # SE 3963) had the proper strain relief in order to prevent damage to the cord, therefore exposing employees to a shock hazard from damaged power supply cords. c) On or about 1/7/22 the employer did not ensure that the power supply cord for the Alpha Allen full rev. power press (model # BT12) had the proper strain relief in order to prevent damage to the cord, therefore exposing employees to a shock hazard from damaged power supply cords.
