29 CFR 1910.178(q)(1): Any power-operated industrial truck not in safe operating condition was not taken out of service: UTCRAS, Inc. located at 501 Highland Ave. Morton, PA: (a) UTCRAS, Gearbox overhaul, Building R: On or January 21, 2021, the employer did not take out of service powered industrial truck that needed repair and maintenance. Employees were exposed to severe injuries while using propane forklift, Mitsubishi Caterpillar (Model: GC30K1), which had visible damage and abrasions on the hydraulics hoses. (b) UTCRAS, Stations # 133/134 and #135, Building O: On or May 5, 2021, the employer did not take out of service the powered industrial trucks that needed tires replacement and maintenance. Employees were exposed to severe injuries while using propane forklifts 80 Nissan (Model: MCUG1F2F361 V) and Hyundai (Model: 25L-7A), with damaged tires showing missing tire chunks, tearing and cracking.
