29 CFR 1910.1025(i)(4)(iv): Employees entering lunchroom facilities with protective work clothing or equipment were not required to remove surface lead dust by vacuuming, downdraft booth, or other cleaning method(s): a) Patco Area, Strip and Wash Building, on or about 12/1/15: An employee MIG welding the undercarriage of a rail car was exposed to 173 micrograms per cubic meter of lead as an 8-hr. time weighted average (TWA), 3.5 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 micrograms per cubic meter, during the 415 minute sampling period. A zero increment was included for the 65 minutes not sampled. The employer failed to ensure that employees remove surface lead contamination from clothing before entering the lunchroom. Abatement documentation must be submitted for this item
